Hi I'm John Garfield

I was born/raised in Springville, Utah. I recently got called to serve a mission in Russia, Novosibirsk and I am Mormon.

About Me

I have 5 siblings with 3 brothers and 2 sisters, while I'm the youngest. I am currently attending Utah Valley University, and just finished up my first semester. I got called to serve a mission in Russia, Novosibirsk and couldn't be more excited! My absolute favorite activity or hobby that I have is the wonderful sport of Snowboarding! It's all about hitting up Park City Mountain Resort and going to the terrain park or down the double blacks in fresh powder! Summer of 2011 I went on a Humanitarian Aid trip to the Dominican Republic, which we helped out orphans, hospitals, homeless people, etc.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon is pretty much a simple answer, because I know it's true. If this gospel wasn't in my life today I don't know where I would be in my life. I know it's true because of the blessings and happiness that I receive from living it everyday. It's one of the many reasons why I'm on my way to serving my mission in Russia, Novosibirsk. I know people are waiting for me over there to hear the gospel and receive the same blessings that I receive. And with the little kid answers to this question, I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the true living prophet today on this earth, I know the Book of Mormon can only strengthen our testimonies and cannot diminish it, that it is a true book about this gospel. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel in the fullness. And I know that living this gospel and enduring to the end will make you feel like the happiest person on the planet.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing it, even though I live in Utah with a large LDS community a lot of my friends are also part of the faith. My friends and I always talk about the amazing gospel, we express our feelings for it and how much we love it everyday. We encourage each other to strengthen their testimonies, and to become a better person day-by-day. My friends and I have all chosen to serve full-time missions and I am so grateful for that blessing in our lives. I truly believe it came from choosing good friends and always remembering the three letter word... CTR
