Hi I'm Zac Watts

I'm a drummer. I'm a writer. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a drummer in multiple bands and have played local gigs all over the state of Utah. I get a lot of enjoyment out of playing the drums, but my true passion is creative writing. I've been writing stories since I was three years old, and I have aspirations to become a career novelist. I am currently serving in the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission in the Pittsburgh 6th ward.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but at about the age of 16 I started to fall away. My family encouraged me to "give it another shot" and to come back to church, but my stubbornness got in the way. I started to live a life not in line with the teachings of the church, and I thought I was very happy doing so. I lived this lifestyle until I was 21, when I came into contact with a friend of my parents who listened intently to my feelings and was truly concerned with them and my motivations to live a life different than my parents. He encouraged me to try out a program that he was implementing in the Riverside, California area, and invited me to live there while I served with full-time missionaries and experience missionary life and gain a testimony of the gospel for myself, while also having the opportunity to learn who I really am. I accepted the invitation despite myself and found myself simultaneously teaching and learning about the gospel some two weeks later. It was there that I finally came to an understanding of the truth of the gospel for myself, through my own efforts, and by the witness of the Holy Spirit, who I bear witness is a very real being who speaks to us daily, if we but listen to His still, small voice. The gospel has changed my life in every way for the better, and I am happier now than I ever was while living outside the church.

How I live my faith

As a full-time missionary and representative of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I study the scriptures daily and apply the doctrines in my life, find and teach those who the Lord has prepared to receive the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and attend church services every Sunday.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Zac Watts
The Book of Mormon exists in accordance with the law that "in the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established." (2 Corinthians 13:1) Just as the Bible is a testament of the living reality of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, so is the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is also evidence that God loves all of His children, no matter where in the world they live. It is the translation of a record made by the ancient Americans, and addresses God's dealings with these people. It contains the full, true gospel of Jesus Christ, just as the Bible does, and is not meant to replace or change or add to any of the doctrines in that sacred book. I have personally read the Book of Mormon myself and prayed over it many times. I know, by the power of the Holy Ghost, that it is scripture authorized of God--His word!--and that it was translated from its original language by His chosen prophet. Show more Show less
