Hi I'm Jon

I am Peruvian, I serve in the Michigan Detroit Mission, speaking Spanish and English.

About Me

I am a runner, I am always learning, I love music.

Why I am a Mormon

I do not know where I would be without His gospel in my life. Having read The Book of Mormon and having prayed over it, I have come to know that it is true. There is no feeling like the peace that is found in a Latter-day Saint Temple, it is pure joy. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I can see the blessings of living His standards in my life. There is a hope and strength that comes from relying on Christ and His Atonement (His ultimate sacrifice for us).

How I live my faith

I know that I am a son of God, He loves me, and He loves you. He has called prophets to reveal His will to us, and Jesus Christ truly did die for me and for you. I know Joseph Smith was called of God to restore His authority on earth, and that through the power of God, The Book of Mormon was translated and given to us for our benefit. You can know for yourself the truthfulness of the message it contains by reading it and asking God if it is true. I guess I could say I live my faith by sharing it with others. Learning more of His doctrines, implementing the teachings of Christ, and being happy helps me to live my faith.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

The Lord has given me everything. 100% of everything I have ever owned, currently own, and will own. He has given me many talents to work and provide. Paying 10% of "my" income is not a problem; He is giving me 90%. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

The reason I proselyte is because I love our Heavenly Father. His Son, Jesus Christ truly performed the ultimate sacrifice, out of love, so we could all live in complete joy. Being a part of someone else recognizing this love and joy is rewarding. My desire is to serve Him with all my heart, mind, and soul in order to shepherd my brothers and sisters. Show more Show less
