Hi I'm Reed

I grew up in Utah, now live in California. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon).

About Me

I grew up in Utah, went to a University and graduated with a BS degree. Currently retired and enjoying it along with my wife. We have four sons who are all married along with grandchildren. Enjoy visiting them on a pretty regular basis. Have enjoyed sports all my life as a participant and observer. Have been active in my church all my life. Served a mission when I was 19. I am a Viet Nam War veteran. My wife and I are now headed on a mission for the church serving in the middle of the country for a year.

Why I am a Mormon

I like others in the church was born into a Mormon home and raised in that environment. So obviously that has had a large impact in my life. I had great parents and brothers who lived their religion and set good examples. I also had great friends who were also of the same faith and shared the same values. This also helped shape who I am. But when it comes down to it I still had to go through the same process as one who might be investigating the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints ( Mormon). I had to study and understand the beliefs. Had to test the promise of the Book of Morman to read and pray to find out if it is true. This I did as mid teen and through instruction from attending church, study time with family, and participation in the church. But in the end it comes down to asking the Lord if the Book of Mormon is true and if the Lord's church has been restored to the earth in these the latter days. This I did and I do know that it is so. The B of M is true. The Lord's church is again on the earth. Joseph Smith was the individual who the Lord chose to be a Prophet to the world and restore His church. That today we have living Prophets who now lead the Lord's church. You like me will have to do the same to find out if it is true. Read, study, ponder, and ask our Heavenly Father with faith if is true. Then test it by living the commandments and doctrines and I know you will fine a great happiness in your life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith as a Morman by trying to serve as best I can the people and the Lord. I have served in various areas of the church. Been in various leadership positions. A teacher of religion for 4 years to youth of high school age. Been the lay leader of a congragation. I pay tithing to the church. Try and fulfill assignments as asked in serving our congregations, the community, and the people. I try to set a good example to all people and live the commandments of the Lord.
