Hi I'm Cindy

I'm a former high school music teacher who fell in love with a farm boy and now live with him on a farm. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love music and have been a music teacher, piano teacher, choir conductor, accompanist, and performer. I especially enjoy accompanying others and trying to build the music together. I love conducting choirs because you can look in the singers' eyes and see what they are feeling. This can be a special, and sometimes emotional, experience. I am also a wife, mother, and grandmother. These are the most important roles in my life. I absolutely love my family!! When I was a young woman I never thought I'd marry. When I met my future husband I was smitten. We have been married forty years. I also never thought I'd have children because of the health problems others in my family had experienced. I'm so grateful that my health was good enough to have these children. Of course there have been challenges but they are all grown now and have wonderful spouses and lively children. Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. I'm grateful to know that Jesus Christ has paid for my sins and that if I repent and try to live each day as He did I can return to live with Him and God someday. I'm grateful to know that He has suffered the same things that I suffer and understands what I am going through. I need never feel alone. I'm grateful that He has provided a way that all His children can be baptized and taught the Gospel. What a great blessing. He has provided that through temple covenants families can be forever. Another great blessing. I'm grateful that He loves me.

How I live my faith

I try to concentrate on being able to feel love for others. It can be difficult to be patient and avoid being frustrated by little things, but well worth it. Our Heavenly Father is exactly that. He's my father and I'm grateful to know that. He's also the father of everyone else and so I need to try to love each person I meet. I also try to be honest and fair with everyone. I try to spend quality time with the sisters I visit teach and enjoy becoming part of their lives. I've also spent much of my life teaching others about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. This has been a great experience watching others grow.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Cindy
I love our church services because everyone is involved. Because we don't have a paid clergy, we all are invited to take turns speaking. We all sing the hymns, which adds a lot to my worship. The sacrament is a crucial part of the meeting. It reminds us of Jesus' sacrifice for us. Church members also pray to open and close the meeting. We love having visitors and most churches have a meeting schedule posted. Most chapels have a sacrament meeting around 9AM, although many buildings have several congregations and have meetings throughout the day each Sunday. Come and attend one of our meetings. Then you'll know what they are like for yourself. Show more Show less
