Hi I'm Sarah

I love going on adventures and reading Harry Potter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 23 and just graduated from college with a degree in history education. I grew up near the beach in New Jersey. I am newly married and just moved to Charlotte, NC with my husband. I really like traveling and I've been to 12 countries. I like drawing, ceramics, making friendship bracelets, and other crafty things. I also really like to read and particularly enjoy the Harry Potter books and Stephen King novels.

Why I am a Mormon

When I came to college I was trying to figure out what I believed in. I did research and studied many religions, trying to figure out which made the most sense. I decided that I was agnostic and I was really unsure if God even existed. This was a really sad time in my life. I felt like I was helpless with no direction, because I didn't believe that God was listening to me or watching over me. This summer I worked with a friend who is Mormon. When we would get bored, I would ask her about what it was like being a member of the church, because I thought it was really fascinating. I decided to go with her one Sunday and I am so happy that I did! I wasn't sure how I felt about the Bible or Book of Mormon or any teachings of the church, but I got such a great feeling being there and I just had to go back. I really wanted to believe it was all true, because I felt so filled with peace and happiness. I learned and read and prayed, and everything seemed to make perfect sense. I was baptized and my life has completely turned around. Every day my faith grows stronger, and I am so grateful that Heavenly Father has given led me to his true gospel. I love being a Mormon. My faith gives me purpose and direction. I find happiness through serving others and growing closer to Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

When I pray, I ask the Holy Spirit for guidance to do what Heavenly Father needs of me. I focus on trying to live like Christ and follow the promptings of the Spirit, and find myself in situations where I can help others and do the Lord's work. I think to accomplish this it is important to read the Bible and Book of Mormon to understand what God wants us to do and how we should live our lives. I live my faith through loving everyone as Christ taught, whether it is a close friend or stranger.
