Hi I'm Vanessa

I grew up in California. I'm a regular woman who loves helping people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I studied film in college and enjoy making independent films, as well as documentary projects. I love to travel to Europe, and learning new things about different cultures. People fascinate me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to be. Its makes me a better person. It reminds me to be more Christlike, and to forgive people, and by that forgiveness I am made whole again. I've learned that bitter and angry feelings can destroy you and burn bridges. But loving people and forgiving them, no matter how they've hurt you can be so freeing, and give so much peace. I know the gospel is true, because I live it, and I feel Gods love when I live it.

How I live my faith

I love helping people, living the Gospel of Jesus Christ has imbeded that into my soul. I remember my Saviour Jesus Christ and how his everyday life, was about helping people and showing kindness and understanding. I teach Sunday School to the youth in my church, and they are very funny people. They have such a different perspective on life that I do, it makes me remember how I saw things when I was a youth.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Woman have a valued place in the Church. Just because we don't hold the Priesthood, doesn't mean we aren't valued. Leaders of the Church praise women all the time. To them we are the more spiritual ones. We are the air that fills the intertubes. We are valued greatly. The Priesthood is a responsiblity the men are asked to bare. Its the way the Lord assigned it. Its is a great responsibility that the men of the Church have to live up to and be worthy of. It is the power to act in God's name, to bless and to heal. Show more Show less
