Hi I'm Isamar Obies Sánchez

I'm a spaniard serving in the England Birmingham Mission. I love reading, playing videogames and my music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a university student and I am getting my degree in Audiovisual Communication. This degree allows me to pursue two of my passions: movie editing and video games. I love to sing, listen to rock music, learning languages and cultures, travel ... Reading is also one of my biggest hobbies, the fantasy genre is my favorite. Poetry moves me, especially if it comes with the signature of Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer. I have two little sisters at home whom I love as well as a perfect mom. Right now I'm in the best place in the world, serving as a full-time missionary in the England Birmingham Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I chose to be a Mormon. And I chose that for myself because I have a wonderful mother. I was born with my parents being Mormon, I was raised in this religion. At the time of my baptism, and from long before my mother told me that I should be baptized because I wanted to, because I knew that this was the true Church, not because of the influences of others. Those words from my mother helped me to search for my own testimony of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And I found it. I belong to this Church because I know that it contains the restored gospel of Jesus Christ in it's fullness. Because I know this is the path my Father wants me to lead. It's wonderful to have the knowledge that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and that they love me. I gained this knowledge through the feelings that I received in my heart, having the Holy Ghost as the source of those feelings. He testified to me of this truth. My earnest desire is that every person on this planet could feel it too and come unto Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be like Christ. I try to act in ways in which, if He was in front of me, He will smile because I am doing the right thing. Currently I do have some callings that help me to keep striving daily to be like Him. Among other things I am the Young Single Adult representative in my ward (young people between 18-30 years of ages who are single) and Assistant to the Camping Leader (I help as "second in charge" to organize the camps that are made for the young girls in my stake). These callings linked to the youth are the ones that help me the most. You should never think that you have nothing to learn from someone who is younger than you. You will be losing a precious source of knowledge and experience. I am grateful to serve the youth in this way. Plus I am now serving in the England Birmingham Mission. What better way to live my faith than by sharing it with others.
