Hi I'm Lisa

I'm an aunt. I'm in love with Pinterest. I'm a student at Oklahoma State Universtiy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm in my second year of college studying Speech Language Pathology. I want to work with children with special needs after grad school. I love learning about communication disorders and what I can do to help. I am an aunt to eight hilarious nieces and nephews. My family is very important to me and I try to be with them as much as I can. I love to cook and bake so I am always looking up recipes on Pinterest to fatten up my family and friends and of course myself. I've just been called to serve a mission for the church in the Marshall Islands Majuro Mission! I can't wait!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon, but there came a time in my life when I had to decide that this is what I truly believed in. My parents and siblings were and are amazing examples to me. My parents encouraged me to make my own decisions after teaching me what they knew to be true. When I was about 13 I realized that I needed to know for myself if this church was true. I read the Book of Mormon and constantly prayed to Heavenly Father that he would bring understanding to me. After reading the Book of Mormon I prayed and asked Heavenly Father if it was true with complete faith and hope that he would answer me. I was given the confirmation that it was true with a burning in my chest and and a strong sense of peace. I know that this is Christ's true gospel restored to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I am positive of that. I know that God loves all of his children and that when we ask him with true intent he will give us an answer. I know that Christ suffered for the sins of mankind and because of that we can be forgiven and return to him and our Heavenly Father again. I know that doing what is right and trying my hardest to be a disciple of Jesus Christ is the only thing that will bring me true happiness. I am so happy to be a member of this church and I know that it is true!

How I live my faith

There is a congregation in my town of all college students so that's the one I go to. It's fun to go to church with people your age that share the same love and belief in Jesus Christ. I've been given assignments such as going out with the missionaries to help teach people about Jesus Christ. I've also been over all the women in the congregation. I would plan activities, teach lessons, and try to get to know every girl in the congregation. I have had so much fun serving people in my church and I know that more people have served me than I could ever realize. People in the congregation are very loving and selfless and are always willing to help each other.
