Hi I'm Ridge Anderson

I've enjoyed California my whole life. I Surf, Downhill Skateboard, go to CSUSM, and will soon serve the Lord in Chile.

About Me

I was born and raised in Southern California. I still live here and am currently studying Anthropology at Cal State University. I grew up being active in sports. I have always loved to surf, skateboard, wrestle, and play Volleyball. I grew up really interested in music and taught myself how to play guitar, drums, bass, ukelele, and some piano. I was also raised in Boy Scouts, and worked very hard with the help of my friends and family until I reached the rank of Eagle at age 15. I graduated High School at age 18, and like I stated, I am studying Anthropology at a university in California. I hope to one day earn a phD in Archaeology, and become a professor and Archaeologist. I hope to focus on the rich history in Latin America. This brought me extra excitement when I recently found out that I will be serving the Lord for 2 years as a missionary in Rancagua, Chile.

Why I am a Mormon

This gospel is true. I didn't know it at first! I was raised in this gospel and thought of it simply as sunday church just like most Americans attended. It wasn't until later that it really began to mean something more. I heard over and over that the only way for your heart to be converted is through prayer and the Holy Spirit. I heard it, but had never tried it. When I realized that, it changed everything. I soon found that you can pray for absolutely ANYTHING and receive an answer. I figured there is nothing more important to pray for than to know if this gospel was true. As I prayed, and then read the Book of Mormon, I truly saw blessings and knew that it was true. Just recently however, I realized that this gospel is not about me making sure my testimony is strong, but more importantly, helping others to grow their testimonies. That is when I feel the most Joy!!

How I live my faith

I am currently preparing to leave on my 2 year mission to Chile, and as I do that I am learning Spanish, and trying to go out with the local Spanish speaking missionaries in my area. I am also currently what is called a Ward Missionary. My fellow Ward Missionaries and I focus on helping those who are looking into this gospel and those who were recently baptized to receive what they need to fully receive the blessings of this gospel.
