Hi I'm Macy

I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hi my name is Macy.I'm the oldest child of six children and love spending time with my family. I love playing the piano and have been playing it since I was in 5th grade. I enjoy reading books during my spare time, especially Historical Fiction. I am also a college student studying to become an elementary school teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but it is through my own reading of the scriptures (Bible and Book of Mormon), praying, and attending church, that I've learned the truthfulness of this church and have gained a testimony of it's teachings for myself. I find that as I live the principles and doctrines that are taught in the Gospel I am a happier person. This Gospel also helps me find the strength I need to make it through when hard times come. I know that we are all children of a Heavenly Father. He loves each of us so much and wants us to return to Him. He knows each of us individually and is aware of our needs and circumstances. I look back in my life and realize how much He has helped me. As I've prayed to Him I have felt the love he has for me and know that He listens and hears my prayers. I know that I have a Savior and that he lives!!! He is my best friend and one I can always count on. He has helped my get through some of the hardest times in my life. He understands exactly how I feel when I'm sick, lonely, or afflicted. I am grateful for the sacrifice he made so that I can return to live with my Heavenly Father again. I am grateful for the knowledge that I can be with my family forever. I know that the Book or Mormon is the true and that it is another Testament of Jesus Christ. I know that we have a living prophet today and that he can teach us what the Lord wants us to do. I know the church is true. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

While I've been home from college, I'm a volunteer at the local elementary school. I help in the fourth grade classroooms and work with the students one on one. We work on their Math and Reading Skills. It's been a really great learning experience for me. It's been several years since I've been in an elementary classroom, so it's been a nice refresher to remember what it's like, for when I teach someday. At church, I play the piano during our opening meeting. At times it is a little difficult, but for the most part it is enjoyable. It's a great opportunity to bless other people's lives with the talent my Heavenly Father has given to me. In church I also have been blessed to work with the children. Every Sunday I help teach new songs to the children. Each month we learn and practice a new song. At the end of the year the children do a program for their parents and sing the songs that they've learned that year. We have a lot of fun learning the songs together.
