Hi I'm Harvey Hughes

I was a USN Deep Sea Diver. I attended Brigham Young University as a non-member. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father and my hobbies are spending time with my family, motorcycles, and cardio workouts. My favorite thing is to spend time with my wife and three kids. We love to go to the beach, watch movies, attend the kids sporting events, and go out to eat.

Why I am a Mormon

What can I say, I met a good little Mormon girl in Scotland 26 years ago and it was love at first sight. I immediately started attending church with her at the Branch in Scotland even though I was not sure about whether or not the church was true. However, I did know that the Mormon people were some of the best people that I had ever encountered. I noticed immediately that there was such a focus on family, education and service that I felt that, regardless of truth, by association, I would be a better person. Early on, I gained a strong testimony of the pre-existence and it helped me to see clearly where we came up from, why we are here, and ultimately where we will all go. I owe everything that I have to my testimony and the church (e.g. my 26 year marriage, my MBA, my family, this great country, even the air that we breath). I have learned enough to know that I see God's hand in everything.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by diligently trying to set a good example for my family, friends, and with those that I work. I believe that we are all children of God and that we all have our own unique genesis. I strive to look for that in others. I work very diligently to be patient with others and myself.
