Hi I'm Bruce

I have worked for over 30 years in the Information Technology industry. I have 8 wonderful grandchildren. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to the same wonderful woman for 34 years, and we have four great children. My greatest joy comes from spending time with my family, especially our eight beautiful grandchildren. When I am not with family or working, I enjoy reading a good book. Biographies, history, and novels. I also love outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and four-wheeling. Choral music is also a passion of mine, and I sing in choirs and quartets whenever I can.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was introduced to the message of the restored gospel-- that God was once again speaking to all mankind through a living prophet--I felt a powerful attraction and desire to learn all I could of this remarkable idea. I studied what was taught to me, read from the Book of Mormon, and for only the second time in my life I prayed with real intent. The confirmation of the truth of the restored gospel came over me as a feeling of complete peace, great joy, a complete erasure of any doubts. The day I entered the waters of baptism and made that solemn covenant with God was one of great joy. My life is blessed each time I witness someone receive the gospel and let its fullness enter their lives; I have witnessed it in my children, grandchildren, and many, many others. I never tire of it. My wish is to witness many more of my brothers and sisters recieve the witness that I have, that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the kingdom of God on the earth. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try every day to live my faith my being friendly and kind to all I meet. A latter-day prophet has said: "Kindness is the essence of greatness." I believe that. My calling in our branch of the church is to lead the missionary effort in our community. This involves seeking opportunities to serve individuals and families in the community, organizing our members and other community members to help fill those needs, and to share the message of the restored gospel while offering these simple acts of Christian service. It is a most rewarding endeavor. The Book of Mormon teaches: "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God."

How can I know Mormonism is true?

I am a trained engineer, and always look for repeatable solutions to important issues. I believe this question is serious and there is solution that works EVERY time. This formula comes from the Book of Mormon, Moroni 10:3-5: 1. Study and ponder. This means you must take the time to read, study, and ponder from the Book of Mormon (you do not have to read all of it) and the testimony of Joseph Smith; 2. Have a sincere heart. You must be honest with God, truly wanting an answer, and not going through the motions to please someone else or to look "good". 3. Have real intent. This means that you intend to act on the answer you get from the Father. You cannot have any walls of "things I won't do" built up. 4. Have faith in Jesus Christ. You must believe that the Lord wants you to know the truth. 5. Pray to Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ. By the power of the Holy Ghost you will then know that the church is true.
