Hi I'm Jan Spagnolo

I grew up in Utah, married and had four children all born in Canada. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a single Mom who raised four children with the great help of my parents, extended family, and incredible friends. My three sons are all married to wonderful, strong, and beautiful wives. I have eight grandchildren. I have an amazing daughter who is single and has moved mountains in her life. I know how tough it is to raise children as a single parent, and the gospel has helped me immensely in building strong family ties, developing a love for and relationship with the Lord, and serving others.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have prayed daily for years, and when I was eighteen, I prayed that I would know if being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the religion for me. I knew my parents, grandparents, and many of my friends and family believed, and in their words, "knew the Church was true", but I had questions. They could be sincerely wrong just as easily as being sincerely right about the truth. So one day I decided to pray until I felt the Lord would tell me if I should remain a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and that this was His true church. I prayed mightily and long, and felt an overwhelming feeling of peace, love and the Holy Ghost bearing witness to me that this was the Lord's church and I was so blessed to be a member. I have never doubted since, and I am so grateful for the Lord and his goodness to me.

How I live my faith

I love to serve others daily. I pray for friends and family who need blessings from the Lord, I attend the Temple, and I serve as a leader for twenty Young Women. In working with teenagers, I enjoy their enthusiasm, hope for the future, and their "Can Do" attitudes. I love to make homemade soup, and I just love to take some soup to the neighbors. I think and thank the Savior daily for His perfect example of serving others all the time.

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

The Church's Humanitarian Aid service is given to all people throughout the world in times of need. Every natural disaster, plagues, loss of crops/water, or any situation where people need food, clothes, first-aid, medical supplies, the church responds within hours of disasters to give food, clothes, medical needs, shelter, etc. to bless the lives of individuals who need it. No money is ever asked, it is a gift of love to show we are all God's children and we want to bless the lives of anyone in need. We want to live our religion, not just talk about it.
