Hi I'm Jared

I'm into rock climbing and repelling, I am going into nursing, I am currently a missionary, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in Utah. I love the mountains and doing things outdoors. That includes things like rock climbing, repelling, hiking, camping, fishing, and anything else that I can think of. I enjoy doing ballroom dance. I am not the best at it but I try. I love to read and on occasion write a poem or two. I am a huge Greenbay Packers fan as well as a University of Utah fan. I am currently serving as a missionary in the Ohio Cincinnati mission, but before this I was attending the University of Utah and majoring in nursing. I love working with children and can't wait to be a husband and dad. I have decided to take my love of working with children and turn it into my career. I want to get my RN and work in the nursery or pediatrics ward of a hospital.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the church is true. I didn't always know though. I had been riding on the testimony of my parents until I was about nineteen years old. At that point it wasn't enough anymore. I couldn't say that the church was true, so I stopped going. I stopped attending church, reading my scriptures, and praying. I felt that my Sundays were better spent watching football. It took me awhile to realize that my life wasn't heading in the direction that I wanted it to and when that time came I turned to the church. I attended, I read, I prayed, and I got my answer. I can now stand before anyone, anywhere and say without a doubt, with all the surety of my heart, and without lying that this church is true. I can say it because as I searched the scriptures, as I prayed, as I attended church the Holy Ghost bore witness to my heart of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This church is true and I encourage everyone, everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, attend church, and pray to Heavenly Father and ask Him if this church is true and if the Book of Mormon is true. I can testify to you that He will answer you and that this is Christ's true church.

How I live my faith

The way I am currently living my faith is by serving the Lord as a missionary in the Ohio Cincinnati mission. I spend all day everyday for two years teaching people the gospel and helping them to come unto Christ. It is the greatest experience of my life and I am so thankful for the opportunity that I have to do it. Before this I served in my church as a primary teacher and scout leader. I taught eleven year old boys about the Book of Mormon and I was also involved in their scouting. I quite enjoyed working with these children and helping them develop their faith in Christ. Some of the most fun times I have had in my life were teaching these kids. They are very funny and also know a lot about the gospel. I know I was the teacher, but I think I was the one who learned the most from the class.
