Hi I'm Matt Rybin

I am a missionary serving in the Benin Cotonou Mission. I love everything about being outside, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving as a Missionary in two small countries in West Africa: Benin and Togo. I grew up in Utah, and have lived there for most of my life. I love to be outside in the mountains fishing, hiking, climbing, and camping. I love to go to the beach with my family. I want to become a Marine Biologist when I "grow up", and hopefully teach at a research university.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it answers all the important questions in my life. I know why I am here, where I am going, where I came from, how to be happy, what God thinks of me, and so much more. I am a Mormon because it helps me know how to follow Jesus Christ and change my life to be more like Him. Because of Him I live now and will again; because of Him I can be happy; because of Him I can change who I am. I am a Mormon because nothing else in my life feels so right. I don't know everything, but I know what it feels like to be forgiven by Him, and I will never stop searching for that light, that goodness, that healing. I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I go to church each Sunday; I pray each morning and night; I read the Book of Mormon every day; and I invite everyone I talk to to do the same. As I am a full time missionary, my calling is to "invite others to come unto Christ". This means my focus is to encourage, exhort, challenge, and invite all who will hear to come unto Christ and taste of the redeeming power of the Atonement. When they accept, I teach them how. I live my faith by striving each day to apply the Atonement of Jesus Christ to my own life.
