Hi I'm Daniel Withers

I grew up in Scotland and Idaho. I am currently a missionary in the France Paris Mission and I am proud to be a mormon!

About Me

I am a currently serving a mission the France Paris Mission for my church. I was raised in England and Scotland while growing up; when I was there, I obtained my love for football (soccer) and the wonders of Europe. I am the second oldest of four children. My father is 100% Scottish, and my mother is 100% American, therefore, I have dual citizenship. I enjoy learning, that may sounds stupid, but I really have the passion for learning new things! I have always had a strong sense of curiosity... Perhaps you know those kind of kids who are like.... "I wonder what happens if I ..... Or, What would happen if I.....?" This mind-set often led to catastrophy, or very cool results!!! (insert nerdy smile :D) For example: Making forts, trying to turn snails into slugs.... DOES NOT WORK! Trying to keep a pet sheep hidden from your parents, trying drive on the main road in a tiny electric car (for children), dropping a toy car from a very high ledge, swollowing 5 ice cubes at once, swallowing large quantities of cinnamon, etc.... Some of my favorite things to do are: singing, laughing, making people smile, joking, cooking, swimming, learning new languages, experimenting, trying to push the envelope of what is (impossible) to accomplish, helping people become happier in their lives'.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because it is something that has brought me great peace. I have the peace of mind knowing what will happen to me and to my loved ones after this life. What a great feeling! We can know that because of our obedience to the ordinances of the gospel, our families can be together for eternity! I know that in following the council of the leaders of the church, I can become a better person, and show my future posterity the "right" way to lead their lives. I pray that my friends and family can understand the reasons why I choose to be "different." I pray that these thoughts will, in turn, lead to actions, and that one day we may rejoice together on the other side! :)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an "example of the believers." I believe that one should help others see the love of Christ in their lives, rather than to push it on them verbally. Our actions speak quite loud, we must make sure that we keep our actions in line with the will of our Saviour and our Heavenly Father. I am currently serving a mission in France, it is such an honour to be here among such great people! I love them very much! I live my faith by keeping the promises that I made at baptism. I try and keep my thoughts and actions pure, at all times and in all places. I would like for people to see me and think..."What is different about Daniel? Why is he so happy?" Living in Scotland gave me the occasion to be looked at as "different" because of my religion. I hope that they saw me not just as, "different" or as a "mormon," but rather as a disciple of our Saviour and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.
