Hi I'm William Tootle

I grew up Catholic. But converted to the true church.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm just a basic guy.I volunteer any chance I get.I love helping people when I can.Heavenly Father loves each and everyone of us and wants us to help one another in our time of need.

Why I am a Mormon

I was serving in the US Army (Basic Training)when I started reading the Book Of Mormon. I asked Heavenly Father to show me a sign this book was true.I was struggling with my push ups I could only do 3 max and I would give out.The next P.T. test (physical fitness test) I did 65 push up's.It felt like Heavenly Angels came down and helped me as I struggled to do my push up's. I knew it was Heavenly Father telling me that this church was true. Unfortantly I did not join the church until 2002 but this always stuck in the back of my head and I will never forget it as long as I shall live.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading my scriptures every day and living what is taught in them in my life every day.(Book Of Mormon,Holy Bible)

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

William Tootle
In 1838, Joseph Smith was told in a revelation that the Church should be called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Doctrine and Covenants 115:4). The Church has been known by that name since that time. Gordon B. Hinckley, prior President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has emphasized the Church’s correct name, saying: “We believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. The official name of the Church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and He is the central figure in all of our worship. “The Church carries the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Redeemer of the world. It is His name by which this Church is officially called. “As for the term Latter-day Saints, members of the Christian Church anciently were called Saints (see Acts 9:32, Ephesians 2:19, Philippians 1:1). They were former-day Saints. We are the Latter-day Saints. It is that simple. “We are frequently called Mormons. It is a nickname given us because we believe in the Book of Mormon as the word of God, a book which goes hand in hand with the Bible, becoming a second witness for Jesus Christ.” Show more Show less
