Hi I'm Ryan

I am from South Africa. I love the Gospel and am very greatfull for the person it has made me. I also love the outdoors.

About Me

I am a fun loving person who loves sports and love's the outdoors too. I enjoy cycling, motorcycle riding, waterskiing/wakeboarding, rugby and kayaking. I also enjoy watching sports such as cricket and any other extreme sports. In 2010 I had a very unfortunate thing happen. I broke my neck while playing a game of rugby and was put in a neck brace for 6 weeks. Never to play rugby (or any other contact sport) again. I am a complete petrol head too. I am absolutely mad about cars and bikes. Maybe one day I will end up volunteering at a bike/car workshop to help out mechanics and learn how to work on the vehicles. I have completed my first year bachelor of commerce with specialisation in financial accounting, I will only be completing my studies after I have served my mission from 2013-2015.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and grew up in the church. Although I was born into the church I haven't always had my own testimony of its truth. Many a time I have doubted weather or not the church is true. But I do know that the church is true and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet who was called of God to restore his church to the earth in the last days. I know that the book of mormon is indeed another testament of Jesus Christ and it is true. When reading the scriptures and church materials it brings such peace to the soul. I know that we have a current Prophet on the earth today, President Thomas S. Monson. I know that the plan of salvation is real and we can one day return to live with our Heavenly Father. I also know that the atonement of Jesus Christ is real and through it we may all repent of our sins and shortcomings.

How I live my faith

I have served as second counselor in the young mens presidency. Where I was responsible for boys aged 12-14 years. With my calling in young men I was also involved in organising activities and trips for all the young men (ages 12-18). My calling also requires me to teach these young men a lesson at church every week. I have been called to serve a full time mission starting from 5 February 2013.
