Hi I'm Melissa

I grew up in California and I love being outdoors. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I have received my associates degree. I want to be a camp counselor. In the past I have gone on several outdoor adventures and loved every one of them. I look forward to being a mother and taking my family on camping trips and visting mountains and forests and rivers. In high school I made a lot of really great friends. I like meeting new people and learning new things.

Why I am a Mormon

At the time that I was baptized and became a member of the church it was because I knew it was what I was supposed to do. From personal experiences I have found that studying the scriptures results in a clearer mind and peaceful soul. I know that these experiences can only come from the Spirit of the Lord. Praying, attending church, and doing service all have similar results. I love how the Spirit feels and that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I enjoy going to church activities to meet new members and those visiting the congregation. I have responsibilities in the church such as teaching the children basics of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love learning more about the gospel of Jesus Christ each week as I attend Sunday School meetings.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Melissa
During the time of Christ, the church was built on the foundaion of apostles and prophets. In the scriptures (Acts 1), the apostle Judas was replaced by Matthias. The church today is restored from how it was during Christ's time. He organized it when He was on the Earth so that we would have an example to follow of how the church should be in these last days. He showed us how to pray, take the sacrament, how to organise the leadership of the church (12 apostles), among other things. Now that Christ is not physcally here on Earth to guide us it seems to me there is an even more need for us to have 12 apostles to help guide this church. Show more Show less
