Hi I'm Courtney Davis

I was born in Arizona, lived in Hawaii, and now South Dakota. I love taking pictures of nature. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an oldest child. I have 2 sisters and 1 brother. I'm a sophmore in High School. I take some advance courses.I love photography, in fact I want to become a photographer; after I serve a mission, by going to college. I would like to go to BYU Idaho. I love to read. My favorite author is Brandon Mull. I also am a huge football fan. My teams are the Cowboys and the Saints. This is a little bit about my me.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I was born and raised in the church. I always went to church because my mom and dad forced me to. Yet when I started to listen to people speaking at church and understanding their lessons and their talks on how the gospel is meant to help me in my life. I really started to go to church and really understood it's meaning. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? Well I am apart of a four person seminary class. That starts at 6:30 in the morning, which is sometimes hard since waking up is not my forte. I try to be an example to my peers by acting better. I am also the only active Mormon in the sophmore class. Which can be hard since the only other Mormon girl doesn't go to the same ward as I do. So I try to be an example to them by dressing modestly, and using better language around them. I openly tell people that I'm LDS and if they have a question about the church they ask me. Or if they think that someone may have told them a lie about the church or read something online that sounded funny they know to ask me to see if it is true or not since they know I will tell them the truth. In my ward I am apart of a small mia-maid group. In fact it's just me and one other girl for now! (Who are active anyways) I'm the new mia-maid president and my goal is to try to help the less active members in my group so that they will know that they're are people out there who love and care about them even when they feel alone. (Mia-maids is a group of 14- 15 ) year old young women who come together and have lessons and activites together. This is how I live my faith.

Are Mormons Christians?

Courtney Davis
I have been told to my face that Mormons aren't christians. I was sad that that young woman thought that because I do beleive in Christ. When I was little I was told the stories of Jesus, I learned songs about Jesus. In the church's name it even says HIS name; The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. So it makes me sad when people think that I don't beleive in Christ. Show more Show less
