Hi I'm Emma

I enjoy watching others smile, and taking peaceful Sunday drives. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live an ordinary life around ordinary people and am extremely blessed in all aspects. I certainly cannot complain. I am currently enrolled in college, but I soon plan on mixing things up a bit by serving the Lord on a full-time mission. Although this has not always been a goal of mine, and was definitely not what I had envisioned myself doing several years ago, I have discovered that God truly has a plan for each of us and through His will as well as our willingness to comply, He provides. I have an awesomely crazy family here at home and I am thankful for all of their quirks and unique attributes. I come from an atypical part-member family but I wouldn't have it any other way, and I know that God knew that these people were the right ones for me! Although it may sound lame, serving others is a great joy of mine. It's always so special to make someone laugh or lend a hand when times are rough, as well as during the normalcy of everyday life, because when it ultimately comes down to it, we are His hands.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I have been a member of the church my entire life some might contend that this fact is the only reason why I am still here; however, they would be greatly mistaken. There are times when discouragement shows face and all that one wants to do is take the easiest road to the closest destination, but you have to remember that although God never said that this journey would be easy, He did say it would be worth it. When feelings are hurt and a sense of hopelessness is felt, we must remember that when Jesus Christ so willingly gave His life for each of us, He immediately forgave His oppressors despite the harsh reality that surrounded Him. If the most perfect man that ever walked the face of the earth could so readily forgive, how much more are we required to do the same? Ultimately It's all about the love for me. "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son..." the least that I can do is try to be more like Him. I know that this journey we call life is no walk in the park, but through the necessary repentance, forgiveness and perseverance, it most definitely can be done!

How I live my faith

One of the most important things that growing up in the church has taught me has been to be a good example to those that I come in contact with. It is so easy to get distracted by the little things in life and forget about the big picture. Life can get rough and temptation runs rampant, but I am lucky because I firmly know who I am and that a loving God is watching over me and will never leave. I completely understand that this is much easier said than done, but just as I have discovered this wonder for myself, I know that you can too. The church provides wonderful opportunities to serve others; however, I feel that simply practicing what we preach can easily be the biggest service of all. What a nice diversion of consistency this can be as opposed to the chaos that so readily surrounds us.
