Hi I'm Gabe Clark

I'm a skier. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second to youngest in a family of 5 boys. I currently attend Brigham Young University as a student and am preparing to serve full time mission for the LDS church. I love being physically active whenever i'm not studying, whether its skiing, tennis, fencing, water polo or scuba diving. I'm an avid organist, aquarium keeper and reader. I enjoy spending time with my family whenever I can, especially with my two little nephews!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an LDS home, but like every member I have my own conversion story. Growing up the examples of my mission serving brothers and loving parents I never questioned the truthfulness of the church. I did not know the church was true the way my family knew it was true, I could not say with every fiber of my being that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the true church. As I grew older and entered high school I was exposed to some less then saintly things that caused me to question why I was a Mormon. My friends were doing things I was forbidden to do and the only reason I had for not doing them was because I was Mormon. Eventually that reason was enough for me and I began to want know if the church was true, and while I knew it was true in my head I wanted to know if it was true in my heart. As time passed my want and need to know increased until I wanted to know if the church was true more then anything else I had ever wanted before. I started to ask my Father in heaven through prayer and scripture study if the church was true, if He was really there, and if he loved me. One day at a young adult activity and heard a man give talk on the atonement. I cannot accurately describe in words the way I felt when I left that building. It was an overwhelming feeling of the love Jesus Christ has for me. I could just feel it washing over me in waves. I felt such a feeling of warmth come over me that not a fiber of my being could doubt that I was a child of God, Who loved me more then I could ever imagine, and for just one moment, I was able to feel a fraction of that love. I know that Father in heaven answered my prayers. I know no less then now then I knew then that the church is true and that I am a child of a loving Father in heaven. I'm a Mormon because I know the church is true. I'm a Mormon because I know that I am a child of my father in heaven. I'm a Mormon because I know my savior lives, and I want to return to live with him some day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by actively serving and teaching the members of my church in their homes. I am also an organizer of young single adult activities. I find that the gospel of Jesus Christ really comes alive when I am serving others. Through service I am able to feel my saviors love and help other feel it to.
