Hi I'm Shane

I grew up in Missouri, in the United States. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm very interested in other cultures and languages. That's partly why I'm so excited to go to Seoul Korea to serve a mission. I find that one of the greatest ways to learn about culture is to collect currency, whether it's historic or modern, it all tells a story. I was going to college to be a history teacher, but then I decided I would serve a mission for the Lord. To prepare for that service, I took a leave of absence from school. While some people may see leaving college to go do unpaid ministry work as a bad idea or even as a crazy thing to do, I know that the blessings that come from doing the Lord's work far out-weigh even the highest degrees from any man made university.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know the teachings of the Church are true. I know that the Book of Mormon goes hand in hand with the Bible and that they are both true. Not very long ago, I had a very bad car accident, one in which I was thought to be dead by those that saw it. I however was relatively uninjured, with just a few cuts and bruises and a concussion. My car was not so lucky. Having rolled over multiple times, it was smash to pieces and totaled. I know that the reason I did not die was because I was being blessed by the Lord. The knowledge that I have is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

In church I held a leadership role. I did things that ranged from teaching to simply organizing activities. Outside of the actual church building, I keep the commandments that have been given to us from our Heavenly Father. Now I live my faith by serving as a full-time missionary, speaking Korean.

What is being a Mormon like?

I think the simpliest answer to what is being a Mormon like is this: It's like being a Christian. Mormons just live the teachings of Jesus Christ and follow the commandments of God. These are simply the teachings of Christianity. Show more Show less
