Hi I'm Steve

I grew up in a small farming community in central Utah. Been married for 42 years and have 5 children. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father and grandfather, I have 5 grown children and 20 grandchildren. When I am not doing church related activities, I like to read and ride my Harley Davidson motorcycle. I am currently retired but during my working career I worked as an engineer and manager at a high tech company doing hardware and software development. I like learning new skills and having challenges in my life that help me to grow and progress.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all of my life but I have not been always active in the church. I became active and really converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ just prior to my marriage. Since then I have been active in the church and we raised our children in the church. I love being a member of Christ's true church hear upon the earth. It gives me great joy and peace of mind to know that I am part of God's plan of true happiness. As his spirit children we can follow his plan and return to him someday if we will take upon us the name of Jesus Christ, be baptized in his name, repent of the things we do wrong and do our best to live his commandments.

How I live my faith

Living my faith requires that I serve others. I have served in many capacities in the church such as in Priesthood and Ward leadership positions. I have also served in many scouting positions over the years. Working with young men is very rewarding. But my most favorite calling was to be in the nursery and be close to the little children. I also worked for 8 years as a Temple ordinance worker which was very spiritually rewarding. My wife and I served our first senior mission to Hungary. We really enjoyed that experience and are looking forward to another mission.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Steve
Homosexuality and same sex marriages are prevalent in today's society. I believe that God did not intend for these relationships to exist and thrive as they do today. I believe that God intended the marriage covenant to be between a man and a woman and that their duty is to multiply and replenish the earth with offspring and anything out side of that kind of a relationship is a sin.
