Hi I'm Seth Porter

I'm from Kansas. I served a mission in Brazil, Brasília. I attend college at BYU-Idaho. I'm a U.S. Soldier. I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is Seth Porter. I recently returned from serving as a full time missionary in Brazil, Brasilía! I currently live in Rexburg, Idaho where it never gets to be above 20 degrees. I've taken to calling it Iceburg. I'm in my fourth semester of education at BYU-Idaho studying the field of Communications. I'm living life the way any other college student would; with lots of naps, studying, class attending, walking, shopping, more naps, late nights, early mornings, and backpack carrying. I am in the United States Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) here at BYU-Idaho. This adds an interesting spin on my life as a student with the added pressures of working out 6 times a week with my other Army Comrades, attending Army based classes, wearing the U.S. Army uniform, and participating in labs to learn more about what the Army is like.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe. I believe in God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. I believe in the prophets who have been called to act for the Lord and help those who need to know what to do. I believe in the prophet Joseph Smith, who prayed to the Lord and asked which church was right and found that none of them were right. I believe that the Lord instructed Joseph Smith to start this church. I'm a Mormon because I know the Lord loves me, that he loves everyone

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending Brigham Young University - Idaho. I live my faith by reading my scriptures, by praying before and after my days, by attending church, by going to the temple when I can, by teaching those who do not know, and by preparing to serve a mission for the Lord.
