Hi I'm Heather

I love to learn and meet new people. I love my family, I love life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family so much! My husband and I are originally from Utah, but are currently living in the midwest while he is in medical school. We love adventuring, and would love even more to have some mountains close by. I work at an elementary school as a teacher helping students who speak English as their second language, and I love my job! I love warm weather and outdoor picnics, and graham crackers. I love to read, listen to music, and sing. I am happy and optimistic and I know that happiness comes from living the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

For as long as I can remember, my favorite scripture has always been Moroni 10:4-5. This is Moroni's promise in the Book of Mormon and invitation that if we ask God in faith, believing that we will receive an answer, we can come to know for ourselves that The Book of Mormon truly is the word of God. I have taken this invitation multiple times in my life and know for myself that The Book of Mormon is the word of God. The power of prayer is incredible and I know that when we ask in faith, God does hear us and He answers us. He will answer you. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it was written specifically for our day. I know that I am a daughter of God. I have felt His overwhelming love for me. He knows each of us individually. His tender mercies do not occur randomly or merely by coincidence. As I have taken the time to recognize God's hand in my life and the many kindnesses He gives me, I have become happier and more grateful. He wants so badly for us to return to Him. I know that the only way to truly be happy is by living the standards of this beautiful gospel every day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to pattern my life after the Savior's. I do my best to treat others as He would and to see them through His eyes. I am happiest when I am serving others. I look for ways to help lift others around me with words of kindness and simple acts. I live my faith by doing the simple things daily. I pray and read my scriptures to help me find guidance and feel peace in my life. If I want to talk to my Heavenly Father I pray. I pray about the good times, the hard times, and everything in between especially to give gratitude for the blessings that I have in my life. I have found answers to questions I have in my life when I read the scriptures. On Sundays I set aside work and school to rest and remember Jesus Christ and all that he has done for me. I love attending church and learning more about our Savior. Having faith does not take away hard times or sadness in my life, but it does give comfort and help me to come closer to my Heavenly Father as I rely on Him for help.
