Hi I'm Dustin

I live in Idaho. I love to be outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love to be outside all year long. Camping, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and snowboarding are all some of my favorite things to do. I also love sports, especially baseball, basketball, and football. I played them all growing up, and when high school came around I decided to focus on my favorite; baseball. I have a semester of college under my belt, and I am currently waiting to leave for my mission. My family is my everything, and I don't know what I would do without them. Through high school I always had an interest in the medical field so I earned my CNA, but somewhere along the lines I lost interest. I am now studying wildlife biology with the hope of someday working with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.

Why I am a Mormon

I was essentially born and raised Mormon. Even though I was born into the church, I still had my own conversion to go through. When I was young I felt like I could live off my parents' testimonies, but as I got older, I realized that I had to decide for myself if I wanted to be a member of this church. I prayed constantly and read my scriptures every day. I never had one of those immediate moments, where I recognized this church was true. For me it happened slowly, building block upon building block. I finally got to the point where I knew without a shadow of a doubt that this church was true.

How I live my faith

I currently have the honor of teaching 5 year old kids on Sundays. It is an awesome experience. Teaching little kids makes you understand why Christ wants us to become like little children. They don't always want to listen or behave, but they have amazing spirits. Sometimes you wonder if you're really getting through to them, and then they surprise you with how well they have been listening. I really feel lucky to be able to spend time with them every Sunday. Sometimes I think they are teaching me, not the other way around. Right now, I am also preparing to serve a mission. I get to devote two years to nothing but teaching the gospel. I am so excited to get out and serve the Lord.
