Hi I'm Cyri

I grew up in a tiny farming town. I am a science geek. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent college grad and want to be a teacher of sorts. I grew up in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, and grew up raising all sorts of animals and growing a garden with my family of 7. I adore being outside enjoying nature and helping others do the same. I love playing volleyball and a good laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings me so much peace and happiness in my everyday life. Life can be really hard and the world seems really gloomy, but His Gospel is simple and is one of love and peace. I also really love seeing how things fit together or relate to each other. As a scientist, it might be easy for me to question how or why something works or happens with no relation to God. In knowing that God lives and that He loves me, I am able to make connections between what I learn in school and what I learn in my heart through scripture study, attending church, and prayer. It helps me see God's hand in everything and have confidence in His plan for me. They go completely hand in hand. My knowledge and testimony of Jesus Christ give me strength and helps me to keep going through good and hard times. Life isn't easy, but we can get the help we need if we have faith and ask for it. Through experiences I have had, I know that Jesus Christ loves ME for me. I love my family, and I know that I can be with my family forever. That means everything! Reading and studying the Book of Mormon brings me closer to Christ every day. I feel power and peace to conquer my day when I read it. I have prayed for myself about it to God to know if it is true, and I received my answer. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has blessed my life in so many ways, and I know I wouldn’t be the same person I am today without it.

How I live my faith

Living what I believe brings so much happiness to me in my life. I try to be a kind and generous person and smile at everyone I meet. I genuinely want to spread joy throughout my day! I pray a lot, especially for peace and strength. I'm often very busy, so asking for divine help is the only way I make it. I try to serve people around me, through simple conversation, volunteering, or being a friend. It helps me feel love for those I serve and helps me see them as God would see them. Right now, I am serving as a full-time missionary to share the happiness the gospel brings into my life. In my congregation at home, I served in our women's group presidency, organizing lessons, visiting members, planning activities, teaching, just about anything! I have been able to serve in different leadership capacities that help me get to know the people in my area and love them as family.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Cyri
Our lifestyle is a pretty simple and happy one. We have families that we love, we want to make a difference in the world, and we want to share that with others. Life should be enjoyed! We do most things that others do: play sports, go to movies, enjoy music, have hobbies, serve others...the list goes on! What makes us different is the knowledge we have of God's plan that influences our choices of what we choose to do. We do our best to keep God's commandments. We connect with Heavenly Father through scripture study, prayer, and attending church. It helps us strengthen our families and serve others. Show more Show less
