Hi I'm Jacob Smith

I love film and adventure, I love smiling and serving, I'm a missionary and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I've lived in Utah my whole life, I love Utah and the friendliness that seems to abound everywhere. I love the mountains and their beauty that our Heavenly Father has blessed us with. when I was younger I played sports like soccer basketball and baseball but I really got into playing Lacrosse, which I played up until I was a junior in Highschool. Around then I got into film and I loved making videos with my friends at Westlake highschool. when I was a junior I took a biology class and met Vanessa the coolest and most beautiful and incredible girl in the whole wide world! now I am so lucky and blessed to have her who is so supportive and loving of me and especially my decision to serve a full time mission. My family is so amazing and I wouldn't be able to be here without them and that's just one little thing they have done for me. I have been so blessed to be born of goodly parents, the third of four boys. my brothers are so great and I have learned so much from each and every one of them. I love scouts, participation has helped me and my family and blessed me with opportunities to serve others. I'm an Eagle Scout and I have also been as an adult to a Woodbadge training course and earned my beads before I left on my mission. I love the Book of Mormon and the way it helps me feel the spirit and the love of our Savior and that's why now I am a missionary for the Church and I am so happy and proud to be Elder Smith, a Representative of Jesus Christ

Why I am a Mormon

Being raised in the Everlasting Hills of Utah it can be easy to take the Gospel for granted, and for years I did. but through the examples and guidance of others I have learned how to have spiritual experiences and growth for myself. I am a Mormon because the Holy Spirit has testified to me that the things I read and Testify of are True and that the Church is True. When I follow the Prophet and live the Teachings of the Gospel the Spirit Whispers to me that what I am doing is right. I know that we have a Heavenly Father and I have seen and felt his Love all around me. The Scriptures tell us that there is one way back to our Heavenly Father and this is it! not only the Teachings but where we get them, following Christ through a living prophet and from personal revelation. We need the Priesthood and the Ordinances and the Temples and all that the Gospel offers! I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet called and ordained of God and that with Gods power he translated the Book of Mormon which is the truest book on Earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to follow Gods commandments and the precepts of his Gospel, having Faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and in his Atonement, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the End. 'I am trying to be like Jesus', I do my best to follow the beattitudes, to always love and forgive everyone and to always be happy and grateful. Right now The biggest way right now that I am living my faith is serving a Full Time Mission, and I love it!

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Jacob Smith

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Jacob Smith
The book of Mormon is the record of the seed of Joseph of Egypt son of Jacob, and the promises the Lord made unto Joseph concerning his Seed. the Record was written under the direction of God by the Prophets on plates passed down from generation to generation. These records were compiled by the Prophet Mormon under the Direction of God, and were Sealed up by his Son Moroni so that one day they could be passed to Joseph Smith who would Translate the Book of Mormon again under the direction of God so that we could have the book in these latter days. The Ultimate Purpose of the Book of Mormon, or the stick of Joseph, is to become one with the Bible, or the stick of Judah, in our hands today so that we can learn of Christ and how to enjoy the blessings of the Fullness of his Gospel in these Latter days and one day return to live with him Show more Show less
