Hi I'm Sarah

I was born in Panama. I was home-schooled growing up. I'm a Paralegal. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read and draw, I enjoy feel-good movies and eggnog. I work as a paralegal for a small law-firm, and I absolutely love the work I do. I have two cats, but I am just as fond of dogs and most other animals. I love my husband with all my heart! I hate cooking and cleaning until I get in and do it, and both are made easier with good music to listen to! I drive an '85 suburban, and I have never loved an inanimate object more than I love that old, beat-up car. I would drive it forever if I could.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon. I was born and raised into the church. Throughout my life, I've had several opportunities to seek out, experience, and enjoy the worship services of other faiths, and it has further confirmed to me that I'm in the right place. I have never had a question that went unanswered. I have never been told to stop asking questions. There is a spirit in our church that you cannot find anywhere else. There is a truth there that speaks to the deepest parts of your soul. It surrounds you, fills you, and changes you from the inside out. Everything I've been taught, everything that the church believes in and teaches, makes so much sense to me! I've had a lot of conversations about religion with people of many different faiths, I've asked about their beliefs, and I've explained my own. I've seen how it changes people, how our beliefs make sense to people who've spent their whole lives asking questions and looking for answers. I have faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ. I believe that He came to Earth to atone for our sins, acting on His Father's will. I believe that, through that atonement, we can return to our Heavenly Father again, as long as we do as much as we can to live worthy of that goal. I believe in repentance. I believe in forgiveness. I have read the Book of Mormon, many times, and I believe that it is the word of God, along with the Bible, and was given to us to teach us, and to help us, and to make us better people. The scriptures have made me a better person, and I am so grateful for them. I am so grateful for this Gospel. It is the truth. I feel it every time I pray, I know it is true.

How I live my faith

In the church, I used to be in the Nursery, where I was responsible for the children from 18 months to 3 years old. It was so much fun, being with such sweet little kids every week! Most recently, though, I was asked to teach the young women on Sundays. I teach the girls that are between 16 and 18 years old. It's a big change from little kids!!! So far, I have really enjoyed the opportunity to be with these girls. They teach me way more than I teach them. Being with them reminds me of the not-so-distant past when I was a teenager and going through some of the things they are going through now. Even in the short few years it's been since I was in high school, so much has changed!! They have a lot of difficult challenges ahead of them. I am so grateful for the opportunity to help them through it, and to have them teach me how to be a better person.
