Hi I'm Landon

I grew up in Bountiful, Utah. I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 18 years old and leaving on my mission in about a month. I love music and spend most of my free time singing around the house, participating in musical theatre, singing in choirs, playing in bands, and other things. I'm really blessed in that my family loves music as well, so we all sing together and some of the best memories I have with my siblings are musical. I love my family and friends, they mean the world to me. Along with the gospel, friends and family bring me the most happiness in my life. I love to do things with my friends any time we get the chance. When I return from my mission I plan on going to college and rooming with my best friend. I want to earn an masters degree in Automotive Engineering and design cars for the rest of my life. One of my greatest goals is to marry in the temple and start a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because, to me, the love of God and the mercy of Jesus Christ are undeniable. It's like Alma says in the Book of Mormon: "The scriptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator." (Alma 30:44) I live the standards of the gospel and devote myself to my religion because the evidence of God is all around me, and the blessings that I have experienced through this gospel are innumerable and beautiful. I have felt security and peace about my standing with my Father in Heaven. That feeling of cleanliness and hope through Jesus Christ cannot be replaced by anything else in this world. I love this gospel.

How I live my faith

I love to go to the temple weekly, which has become a great strength to my testimony. I attend church meetings every week, and have been participating in mission preparation classes for the past year. One of my favorite callings that I've ever had was to serve on the Seminary Council at my high school this past year. We would have weekly meetings during lunch to discuss how to improve the students experiences, how to invite the Spirit into classes, motivate students to participate, and make coming to Seminary exciting. I try to read the scriptures every day, which is becoming easier for me. It's been something that I haven't been very good at in the past, but as I have been reading them consistently, they are becoming sweet to me, and something that I rely on for spiritual strength and guidance. I try to follow words of the prophets to always keep a prayer in my heart, and have found that as I pray to Heavenly Father all throughout the day and about all of the little things that I experience, I feel His love and support for me stronger than when I think of prayer as something to check off at meal time. In prayer, scripture study, temple attendance, and going to church, I have come to rely on the strength that I feel from living my faith.
