Hi I'm Sarah Wood

I love people. I'm from Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Idahoan girl through and through! I love playing in dirt and being outside! I'm the fifth of seven kids and love my adorable family! As a result of having four older brothers, I love to play sports. Tennis, Basketball, Football, Soccer. You name it, I'm game to play it. As of right now, I am serving as a missionary in the North Carolina, Charlotte mission. It's the biggest, hardest, greatest adventure of my life and I couldn't be happier!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I'm a big picture kind of gal. I want to know the end from the beginning. Most of the time, I don't get to see that big picture. As a member of Christ's true church, I know why I am on the Earth. I know what I must do to have happiness in my life. I know that God lives and He watches over me. If I let him, He will guide me step by step to eternal happiness. I have learned that I can live with my family forever. That is a blessing I treasure with all my heart. Life is hard and is filled with ups and downs! I am a Mormon because I need the assurance that God is there. Christ, as my Savior, has already gone through everything I'm experiencing. He can strengthen me and give me courage to go on, in spite of challenges in my life. As I pray and reach out to Heavenly Father, he blesses me. I know he loves me. After all, he has given me a wonderful family, incredible friends, and an amazing privilege to live on the Earth. He is willing to bless me with so much more, as I am faithful to his commandments.

How I live my faith

Faith isn't something that just happens. It takes work, practice, and recommitment. Everyday, I study my scriptures, pray to my Heavenly Father, and then go out and make great things happen. I try to be happy because I trust that in the end, God will work everything out. I just need to roll with the punches and come out smiling. As a missionary, I get to talk with people everyday about my faith. I love testifying that Jesus Christ is my older brother. He lives and loves me. His sacrifice helps me to become a better person, if I choose to let it.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Sarah Wood
God loves his children. He led the Israelites from Egypt into the wilderness. Although the Israelites chose wickedly, they eventually were brought to the promised land. How were they led? Moses, a great man called of God to serve God's children. God loves his children. Why would he lead the Israelites and not you? God does lead you, if you allow him. He has again called a prophet to the Earth. This prophet leads us through our wildernesses and hard times to guide us to greater happiness and peace. I know that heeding to the prophet has blessed my life in countless ways. I have been protected from harmful influences. I have been blessed by making righteous choices. How grateful I am for Thomas S. Monson, God's prophet on the Earth. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Sarah Wood
The Atonement was Christ suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross for our sins. Not only for our sins, but also for our heartbreaks, sufferings, trials, tribulations, and pain. Everything we go through, Christ walked that same exact path. Since we are human and hopelessly flawed, we needed somehow, someway to become better. Christ willingly paid for our sins in order to help us become better. An essential part of enabling the Atonement to fully bless our lives is to have faith, repent, pray, become baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Jesus Christ loves us so much and wants only to love us. If we allow the Atonement to work in our lives, we can receive a peace in the midst of the most tumultuous times. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Sarah Wood
Scriptures are God speaking to his children. Every time we read them, God is speaking to us. As we read, we learn more about God's love for us. As I study what I've read and then apply it in my life, I gain a greater peace in my heart. My understanding of who I am and what I am to do in this life is increased. Most importantly, though, I pray about the scriptures. About the things I learn as I study. As I do this, I feel my faith increasing in my Savior, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
