Hi I'm Darby

I'm Arizona proud. I'm a city girl with a country heart. I'm a tomboy in a dress. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm your everyday average young adult that loves to have fun. I served the first 7 months of my mission in the Russia, Rostov-na-Donu mission but finished my service in the Idaho, Pocatello Mission and loved every minute of it. This church has brought me the greatest joy and nothing brought me more happiness than bringing that same joy to others. Soccer has always been a passion for me, it's gotten me through the toughest of times and its always kept me out of trouble. I love to talk and making people laugh is one of my hobbies. My family is constantly growing and they mean the world to me. I haven't always loved them the way I should but truth is, at the end of the day, I would do anything for them! I also love to hang out with my friends and do anything that is completely spontaneous; having them in my life makes every day an adventure. I love my life and I strive to live it to the fullest, the way my Heavenly Father would want me to.

Why I am a Mormon

The church has always come super easy to me, ever since I can remember I've known it was true and I've known the Lord loves and knows me. But through high school I became busy with playing competitive soccer and wasn't able to attend church regularly. I would still attend girl's camp and youth conference every year if my schedule allowed me to but my life still had a sort of emptiness to it. It never felt whole and I never felt 100% happy. Then my dad told me that he thought it would be a good idea for me to move back to Arizona for college after graduation. I hesitated with the thought of leaving Nevada and all my friends behind but I agreed it would be good for me and decided I would move. Part of living with my dad came the agreement that I would attend church regularly, and I wouldn't be playing soccer on the Sabbath day. On my first week back to church it was fast and testimony meeting, at first I wasn't really paying attention but then one of my friends got up and bore her testimony and I realized what it was that my life was missing through high school. It was the gospel. I know this is the true church. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet and if we follow his words and the word of the Lord we will have a happier life. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us and he listens to our prayers, he knows our desires and he knows of or our needs. I know he loves us and wants us to return to him and I know that if we do what we are asked, we can.

How I live my faith

I served a mission for the Savior, Jesus Christ in Pocatello, Idaho. I served the first part of my mission is Rostov-na-Donu, Russia but after seven months I was sent home due to 5 bulging discs in my lumbar spine. At home I was able to receive the medical treatment needed but also grow stronger in my desire to serve a mission for the Lord. I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to teach the Russian people and even more grateful to have had the chance to be able to continue bringing the gospel to the people of Idaho. Back home I attend my singles ward regularly and can't go a week without going to our activities. I also like to get a group of friends from my singles ward together at least once a week to play Just Dance, eat food, watch movies and have a good time hanging out together.
