Hi I'm Jessica Fay Pitcher

I'm a sister, a daughter, and a friend. I'm a student and a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Salt Lake City, UT and have lived in Park City, UT since I was 5 years old. I attended Park City High School where I played volleyball, basketball, and softball. Sports were my life in high school. I wasn't exceptional at any of them, but had so much fun working to improve every day and making life-long friends with the girls on my team. I am a Harry Potter nerd. From the time the first book came out, I have been a hard-core fan. I've been to every movie premiere and have read every book at least 4 times. For the past 3 years I've attended school at Brigham Young University. Both my parents graduated from here, and it was always my dream to come here. I absolutely love it. There is a sense of community and friendship throughout the entire campus that I haven't seen replicated anywhere else. I am a part of something here, and I truly feel like I belong. I participated in a study abroad through BYU to Madrid, Spain in the winter of 2012, and it was the most fantastic experience of my life up to this point. It opened my eyes to a new culture and to years and years of history, and taught me a lot about myself. Shortly after I returned from Spain, I made the decision to serve a mission. I have been called to serve in the California Sacramento Mission speaking Spanish, and I report January 16th.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because through the gospel has come every single good thing in my life. Literally every good thing that has happened in my life can be traced back to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. And not only does it bring good into my life, but it gives me strength to deal with the hardships and challenges of life. It has taught me how to be a good daughter, sister, and friend, an upstanding citizen, and a faithful disciple of Christ. That is what it comes down to fundamentally. I am a Mormon because I know that my Redeemer, our Savior, Jesus Christ, lives. He died that I might live, and I want to serve Him faithfully for my whole life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be an instrument in the Lord's hands everyday, and by looking for opportunities to see people around me as Christ sees them. I am currently serving a mission to share this message that has brought me so much comfort. I have chosen to give 18 months to the Lord, to do His will, and to bring more of His children to salvation.
