Hi I'm Camilla

I have lived all over the United States. I am preparing to serve a mission in Seattle Washington. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have moved from place to place my whole life. I actually got to live in an area for 6 years, but most of other places I only lived for 1 to 4 years. I love to travel and I have been to historical sites and national parks all over the US. I also love to dance, volunteer at the hospital, train animals, and run.

Why I am a Mormon

I have moved all my life and am constantly being put in the situation of being the new girl. I am really shy and therefore have difficulties worming my way in to conversations and introducing myself to people. Then when I do muster up the courage to finally talk to someone and make friends I end up leaving them and moving. Often times I feel like whats the use of even trying or I feel so lonely. It took me a couple moves to figure this out, but I wasn't alone. Jesus Christ suffered for me and he knows how I feel each time I move. I am never alone, especially in my suffering. It is this knowledge that has given me courage to talk to others no matter how shaky I feel, I want to let others know that they are not alone either. So I have focused not on worming my way into a conversation, but on approaching those who are just as alone as I was. The knowledge that Jesus Christ loved me so much that he suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and died on the cross for me pulls me through my hard times and gives me the courage to serve and teach that we are never alone.

How I live my faith

Throughout my youth I have had the opportunity to serve in many different ways. I have been able to help clean the Ronald McDonald home, restore a nature trail, create books for the mentally handicap, and organize care packages for soldiers overseas. I have been given the opportunity countless times to adopt-a-highway for cleaning and help deliver food to elder people in the meals-on-wheels company and for starving children at the food bank.

What is being a Mormon like?

I love to smile and all the time I get the question why are you smiling or are you always so happy and the answer is yes. Through keeping Heavenly Fathers commandments and studying the Book of Mormon and the Bible I have no reason to be sad. Time and time again it tells us to rejoice and have joy! Heavenly Father has given us this life because he loves us and how can anyone go about their day frowning knowing that. So when people ask why I am smiling, it is because I am not alone I am thanking my Heavenly Father for giving me that smile and laughing because through my joy I feel that he is laughing too. To be a Mormon is beyond any description of joy there is our vocabulary. Show more Show less
