Hi I'm Gabriel

I'm a writer. I'm an amateur film maker. I'm a father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a full time Technical Writer, working on manuals, video tutorials and e-learning. My wife and I share passion for science fiction and we write and film stories in our spare time. We both hope it'll be the other way round soon since we aim to become sci-fi writers. Even our baby was in the cast of one of our awarded works. We also love games, and we design board (tabletop) games and card games as freelancers. We love music, making jokes and of course, ice-cream.

Why I am a Mormon

I met the missionaries through a family member when I was 17. I had turned an active atheist for some years to that moment, but I couldn't deny what I felt when the missionaries started teaching me. Many things which troubled me finally made sense and the Holy Ghost confirmed every teaching with a warm feeling in my heart. Getting baptized was not a hard decision, but many of my "friends" stopped hanging out with me. From the very beginning I knew Christ was my Saviour, that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet and that the true Church of Jesus Christ was in the Earth. With time, deeper answers to deeper questions were answered through teachers, scriptures and prayer. I see the hand of God in my life every day. The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful wife, and the blessings of Eternity through Temple Marriage fill me with joy and happiness everyday. The Gospel means everything to me. It's a way to think, it's a way to live and it's a true way to joy. Knowing where I come from, who I am, what's my purpose in life and where I'm going after this life helps me make the right choices in life.

How I live my faith

I attend a ward of almost 80 people. I'm responsible of helping the missionaries find and help people to know and live the Gospel Principles. I love teaching on Sundays to new members and friends of the Church and do whatever I can during the week to help those in need. I'm on a crusade to eliminate bad language, starting a Swear Jar everywhere I've worked at. Everybody finds it funny when I do it, but it's even funnier when they realize they don't swear anymore.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Gabriel
Yes, we do. I found this very interesting when I talked to the missionaries for the first time, and a few weeks after I was baptized a General Conference (where the Prophet and Apostles speak to the world) was held. The Prophet at that time gave a specific warning to my region which I thought it didn't apply to my country since we were "really far away" to face that kind of situation. Of course, a few weeks later things happened and I was very surprised to see a prophecy fulfilled that quick and in a scenario where "things didn't fit". Indeed God speaks through His prophets today.
