Hi I'm Rachel

I was born and raised in Las Vegas. I love learning, specifically when it's about health. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love learning about the human body and ways to heal it, especially if there's a way to do it naturally. I like to crochet occasionally, and I love to play the flute! I play the piano as well, but I think the flute is more fun. I'm trying to get into a Dental Hygiene Program, never thought I'd find myself saying working in someone's mouth is fun!

Why I am a Mormon

I may have grown up in an LDS family, but that doesn't mean I haven't gained a testimony for myself that this church has the full gospel. I remember being in middle school and having someone ask me if I truly believe the "Joseph Smith story" as they put it. I thought about it for a second, simply because no one had ever been so bold with me. After a few seconds of pondering I felt a warm sensation in my heart, and I couldn't help but smile. I knew that Joseph Smith had been a true prophet and that he had really translated the golden plates in order to give us the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Jesus Christ, is what we refer to as a corner stone of our church. If the Book of Mormon isn't true, then Joseph Smith wasn't a true prophet, then the priesthood we hold is false, then many of our beliefs may not be true. But the deal is, Everyone can find out for themselves if the Book of Mormon is true. You simply need to read it through, then ask Heavenly Father after reading if this Book is true. I have taken this challenge upon myself, and know for a fact that it is true, that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, that the priesthood has been restored, that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, that Thomas S. Monson is our prophet on the earth here today and that Jesus will come again to this earth. I know without a doubt in my mind that this church is true and that Heavenly Father loves each and everyone of us. There is no better feeling on this earth than to know that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true, and that Heavenly Father loves you. It is such a tender and awesome feeling. I encourage you to get to know your Heavenly Father and to pray to him to know if the Book of Mormon is true after reading it. I know you will be pleasantly surprised!

How I live my faith

I go to church on Sunday every week, and often times will lead the music. I go to support people who put on fun activities and strive to be like Christ on a daily basis. I find that I feel closest to my Heavenly Father when I pray and read scriptures on a daily basis. There's nothing better than trying to have the Holy Ghost with you while doing activities everyday. It's an awesome feeling to be close to our Heavenly Father and know that He cares.
