Hi I'm Carolyn Mary Allen

I'm a photographer. I'm a composer. I'm a lover of learning. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a college student currently attending BYU-Idaho. I love to sing, play the guitar, read and write poetry, and I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! I am still unsure of my exact major, but I love and hope to teach. I love my family and all of the individuals who have inspired me and made me who I am today. I love the sound of rain, rowdy family meals, my happy dog and adorable kitty, long hugs, exploring the mountains, country music, life stories, warm blankets (I'm basically always cold), and a lot more. I consider myself a happy person and hope to continue becoming more like my Heavenly father and Jesus Christ every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I think that the first time I truly appreciated Jesus Christ was when I realized how hopeless I would be without him. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we believe that God's "work and...glory [is] to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." (Moses 1:39) We can actually live... forever. In fact, all of us will. None of us are exempt!!! No, not one. So if we are all going to live forever anyway, what's the point? What is so important about commandments and covenants and this guy everyone talks about, Jesus Christ? Well, the thing is, yes, we all will live forever, but based on our actions here and the desires of our hearts, we determine ourselves HOW we want to live during that forever. A truth I want to testify of is that each of us personally chose to come to Earth before we were born, hoping we would one day return to live with our Father in Heaven again. We CHOSE to come because we wanted to learn and grow. If we search inside our souls and pray for spiritual confirmation, we can come to know this is true. Now, we're here. And to return to God's presence, we need to be pure and sinless... buuuut we are all imperfect, we make mistakes, we've broken a commandment or two, so we've blown it. It's over. Right? Thank goodness, no :) God, our Heavenly Father, knew we would make mistakes. It's part of the plan! With mistakes along the way, we work to become more like God our Father and our brother, Jesus Christ. Christ came and suffered for each of our sins so that if we choose to accept Him, we don't need to suffer ourselves, we can accept His gift and be cleansed. What? Someone would do that... for me? Yes :) This is why we say Christ is the greatest gift. This is why I'm so thankful for Him. I love my Savior and want everyone to know what God has in store for them, what He's offering them, and what they themselves, truly wanted when they chose to come to this wonderful little place called Earth. This, is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My greatest joy comes from sharing Christ's gospel with others and helping people to learn and come unto Him. I am forever grateful for those who have taught and inspired me along my way, including those who still do. I have so much to learn in life, but if I can somehow help others of God's little ones along the way, I'll be so happy. I love the Book of Mormon and continually gaining a testimony of it's truth. I love telling my friends and people I meet about the happiness Christ has given us, if only we listen and accept it! I hope to become the person my Father in Heaven wants be to be.
