Hi I'm Ashelle Denning

I am preparing to serve a mission in Paris, France beginning April 3, 2013. I love my Savior. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a younger sister, an almost-twin brother (he's adopted and 5 months older than me), and an older sister who's adopted. I went to Utah State University for a year and now I'm doing cosmetology school while living at home with my parents and sister until I leave for my mission on April 3, 2013. I hope to do something in the medical field once I get home from my mission. I love music with all my heart. I sing and play the piano. I've also played the organ for a couple of years and I now play in sacrament meeting. My favorite thing to do is be with the people I love.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church so I have always been a member. I remember the peace I felt when I was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the age of 8. When I was 14 years old I went to the program called Especially For Youth, or EFY. This program was made for youth everywhere to come together at a college campus for a week. There are sessions each week during the summer at various college campuses. While there, we had counselors who taught us and guided us where we needed to be. We had one fireside where we all sang this beautiful medley. I felt the love of our Savior and Heavenly Father so strongly throughout that meeting. I knew right then that they know me and love me. Ever since then I have never doubted that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I learn so much each Sunday as I go to church and learn about Christ and his teachings. I would never give up this happiness for anything. I have also had good parents who are examples to me of what I should strive to be like. By living the standards of the Church and obeying the ten commandments, I know that I can return to live with my Father in Heaven. I know that if I stay worthy I can be married in the LDS temple and live with my family forever. I know that Christ died for me, but more importantly He lives for me. He lives for and loves each and every individual person. I pray to my Heavenly Father Daily to help me to become more Christ like and follow in his ways. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father, and I know by living righteously I can live with them again.

How I live my faith

I try to go about each day doing good for others. I find it easier to be happy when I have done something good for someone. I want to spread the truth of this church to others so they can know and feel of the happiness it brings, which is why I decided to serve a mission. I will do my best to be an example to the people of France and teach them how to become more Christ like. Right now one thing I'm really trying to work on is not judging people. Something that I have to remind myself is that everyone sins everyday, and everyone sins differently. We all go through our different trials and deal with them differently. It is very important to me to pray to my Heavenly Father and read the Book of Mormon daily. I always, without fail, have a better day when I do those things.
