Hi I'm Doug

I was born and grew up in Alabama USA. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint ( a "Mormon" ).

About Me

I am retired.I worked in a local industry for 35 years. I have a wonderful wife. I have six children, two step-children, fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. I have two younger brothers. I like to fish, like to watch college football and travel with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I was not a member of any demomination but my grandparents were religous people. I was very skeptical at first but as I listened to the teachings of the missionaries I felt the spirt began to work with me. I accepted the challange to read the Book of Mormon and pray and ask God my heavenly Father if it was true. When I was about half way though the book an event happened that convensed me, to my heart-of-hearts, that the book was indeed true. I felt the witness of the Holy Ghost in every fiber of my being. I beleve that the most important thing a person can do in this life is to find the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and try to live it all the rest of their days. Listen to the Spirit and you will find it. I invite everyone to come and visit with us and see first hand what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ( us "Mormons" ) is all about. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I attend Church services regularly and function in church duties as i am asked. I help with community activities such as helping with clean up after tornados and such. I have taught the eight to eleven year old boys in the Church youth primary program.
