Hi I'm Kirsten

I'm a high school senior. I'm a percussionist and a singer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love music. I started piano when I was around 6, I began percussion when I was 8, and I have been singing my whole life. I am in my school's Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Indoor Drumline, Orchestra, Concert Choir, Women's Choir, and Madrigal Choir, and I love it. I am also in the National Honor Society and school is very important to me. I hope to one day become an epidemiologist, a loving wife, and a mother. I play to go on a mission for the LDS church and attend Brigham Young University. I love service and I want to volunteer around the world to improve health conditions through my work and research in epidemiology.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and most of my extended family is Mormon. When I came into the Young Women's program in the church, I was still relying on my parents' testimonies, but through the years, after lessons on faith, and my own personal study and prayer, I have grown to love the gospel and the church. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church, and I am forever grateful for the atonement and the ability to repent. I don't know what my life would be life without the church. I rely on Heavenly Father for just about everything in my life, and I am so grateful for prayer and the scriptures. I love to read the scriptures and I know that The Book of Mormon is true. President Thomas S. Monson is the true and living prophet of the church today, and he receives real revelation from God.

How I live my faith

I try my hardest to live according to the standards presented in "For the Strength of Youth," a booklet that outlines the expectations and standards for all members of the church, not just the youth. I love to share my faith at school or other times when people ask me. I want everyone to know of the true and living God, and the support He can bring to their lives. I also participate in the "Personal Progress" program for the young women in the church. It is a book with a set of goals split into 8 values (Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Choice and Accountability, Good Works, Integrity, and Virtue) designed to help each young woman build her testimony and grow her faith. It has certainly helped me to become closer to my Heavenly Father and develop a love for the scriptures.
