Hi I'm Jonathan

I grew up in Southern California. I've been a member my entire life. I love the gospel. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm from Southern California. I'm 19 years old and I love to hike, rock climb, swim, and most other outdoor activities and sports. I played Water polo in high school and I loved it. I am currently in college studying Economics and it is amazing and I am having such a good experience here. I will graduate with my associates degree at the end of the semester. I have recently been called on a mission to the Utah Salt Lake City South Mission and I am so excited to serve the Lord for two years.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my whole life. I've never known any different than the Church. But I, like everybody else who gains a testimony of the gospel, have a conversion story that helps me to remember why I live the life that I do. Although some people have a miraculous experience that lets them know the truth and helped them become converted to Christ, my conversion was a very long process, spread out over many years and involves several experiences that are personal to me and special to my gaining a testimony of Christ. What I have come to realize through my personal conversion is that it is not always that one amazing manifestation of the spirit that brings about conversion, rather it is the little day to day experiences that we have that allow us to see the truth of the gospel and converts us just a little more. I am a Mormon because I have the desire to be like Christ and answer his call to follow him. When I was eight years old I took my first step in answering that call by following His example and being baptized into the church by the proper authority. But it is the experiences that I have had since then that I consider my conversion. I love this gospel. I don't know where I would be without it, but I don't want to find out because I am happy. I am happy to know that there is a life after this and that I will be able to be with my family forever. I am so grateful for the hope that this gospel brings to my life and the hope that it can bring to others through faith and obedience on the Lords commandments. I know that my Savior lives and that he loves me personally. I know that I would not be able to do anything, save it be through the sacrifice of Christ. I owe everything to him, and the least that I could do to repay his is to follow his example and be obedient to his commandments. That is Why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Where I currently live, I am surrounded by a lot of members of the church so its easy to live my religion because I have plenty of support from the people around me. I attend Church every Sunday with my friends and partake of the Spirit that is there. I have the opportunity to teach a class at church where I can share the gospel and my personal testimony of Jesus Christ with those around me. But the biggest way I live my faith is by having the desire to serve a mission and that is exactly what I am going to do and I cannot express how happy I am and how excited I am that I have the opportunity to serve the Lord
