Hi I'm Cameron Wilde

I grew up in Provo, Utah. I have 7 siblings. I play the trumpet. I'm serving a mission in Jacksonville Florida, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary in the Florida Jacksonville Mission. I grew up in Provo, Utah, and I loved it. I play the most angelic instrument, the trumpet, as well as some piano. Music has shaped my life. Being able to convey notes on a page into something that you can feel in your heart is truly amazing. Some of my other hobbies include video games, mountain biking, listening to jazz and rock, longboarding, and Magic the Gathering. My family is the biggest reason I am who I am. I have 2 brothers and 5 sisters, and they mean so much to me. I love them each a lot. It's not fair of me to exclude my in-laws, because I love them as if they were my brothers and sisters. I also 14 nephews and nieces whom I love dearly. I have my mom and dad to thank for the love we feel as a family. Our family is happy because it is built on the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Both sides of my family heritage can be traced back to people who left their homes in England, Denmark, and other places to come and join this very church. Some of them crossed the plains in frozen conditions, burying family members along the way. They made a tremendous sacrifice over 150 years ago, just so that could grow up in Provo, Utah to two amazing parents who are both members of this church. Growing up, I did things because my parents and siblings did them, such as going to church and reading the scriptures. Now I understand, though, that doing these things and living the principles I have been taught have brought me true happiness. Now I am out to tell others of this same happiness that I feel, that we can rejoice together. I know that my Savior lives. I know He loves me, and even when I do dumb things, he's still there to help me back up. I know that by following His example, I can live with my Father in Heaven and my family forever.

How I live my faith

As a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I believe that I am a representative of Jesus Christ. I live my faith by waking up each morning and going out to help other people come closer to Jesus Christ. Part of my call as a missionary includes leaving most of my "old life" behind for a while, so I can fully devote myself to serving our Savior. Things like watching TV, playing games, and even playing my trumpet have been set aside for 2 years of my life. Many people ask me why on earth I'd do something like that, and some think that I'm flat out crazy. I do this because I know that Jesus Christ ransoms us from the sins of the world, and that spreading this news will make people truly happy in this life and in the life to come.
