Hi I'm Fred Swain

I'm married with five children, two still at home. I'm a Shift Manager at the Coos Bay Oregon Walmart. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Professionally I've been a law enforcement officer for 17 years working patrol, SWAT and interstate drug interdiction. I worked a few years as a project manager for a land development company. I'm currently a Shift Manger for Walmart. I enjoy hiking, hunting, fishing and traveling to new places I've never seen before. I recently learned how to catch crab on the Oregon Coast. I'm married. I have five children. Three of them are attending college. Two are still home.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who were Mormons. I have lived most of my life as I was taught to do. I did go through a time in my life where I experimented with other ways of living only to become disappointed in my self. I felt like I was not doing the things that my Father in Heaven intends for me in this life. I remain a faithful Mormon because it gives me peace of mind and comfort. I see God and Jesus working in my live to make it much better. Being a Mormon is a good, clean way of living life and happiness is the result. Each of my five children are living their lives as Mormons and I would put their accomplishment up against any other five children. It is an honor to be a Mormon Dad and Husband.

How I live my faith

I'm a group leader for several men in my church. Together we visit the widows in our area and serve them and others as needed. As I study the scriptures daily and pray to my Father In Heaven, I have learned that I am guided in my life to make the little decisions that make a difference to my happiness and to the happiness of those I'm directed to serve. I have been taught and I believe that all people have the light of Christ in them. It is a powerful event when they let that light out to effect positive change in other's lives as well as their own.

In whom should we have faith?

Fred Swain
We should have faith in Jesus Christ. He was sent here as our advocate by God (Our Father in Heaven). We pray to our God in the name of Jesus Christ. Each time that I have turned to my God in prayer, he is always there. The times that I was not close to God was because I had turned away from him but like a good Father will always do with his children, God patiently waited for me to turn back to him. When I do so, I feel his presence and love. Show more Show less
