Hi I'm Kathy

I grew up in Utah. I am a wife, mother, teacher and grandmother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Besides quilting, reading good books, enjoying good music, swimming, and family history work, my favorite thing to do is to serve my family. I have a wonderful husband, five daughters, five son-in-laws and twelve grandchildren. My family includes my extended family and friends. When these people are happy I am happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the strong impressions I have had that God and Jesus Christ live and love us. These impressions have come when life is easy as well as when I have faced trials. One impression came as I watched my granddaughter's body become weak and helpless as her body fought a deadly disease. In the hospital one end of a plastic tube was connected to a port next to her heart. The other end was connected to a bag filled with blood that had previously pumped through the heart of its donor. As this blood slowly dripped in my granddaughters fragile body I witnessed life coming back into her. The blood was doing something for her that she couldn't do for herself. Within an hour she was talking, moving and smiling. As I watched this process I began to understand just how the the sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ, can give us life. He sweat great drops of blood in the Garden of Gethsemane and again on the cross as he did something for us that we cannot do for ourselves. Being a Mormon helps me understand the Atonement and feel the love that God and Jesus Christ have for all of us.

How I live my faith

After my children grew up I enjoyed working as a teacher in our community. While teaching I served in the local teacher organization to help better teaching conditions in our area. In church I have been able to serve as a teacher and leader to children, youth and adult groups. Retirement has given me the opportunity to discover Family Search Indexing and Family History Work.
