Hi I'm Kolton

I love all things to do with Superman, I love acting, singing, drawing, playing guitar, I love this Gospel, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 19 yrs. old and am, right now, serving my mission. I will be serving in the Cordoba Argentina Mission once I finish my nine weeks here at the MTC. I absolutely love all things Theatre, like Plays and Musicals. In High School I was in 5 different productions, two straight plays and 3 Musicals and I was the Vice President of the Drama Club at Lehi High School. I play guitar, I like to Draw, I like to read, sometimes I like to write, and as you can probably tell, I love to act, and I also like to sing. Although I was in Musicals I am definitely not a Dancer but still enjoy dancing. I also am obsessed with all things Superman and also really enjoy all things to do with the DC Universe. I am planning on attending College after my mission and am still not sure what I'd like to do but I have considered becoming a Seminary Teacher because I've realized through Seminary and church when I would give talks or teach a lesson I actually really enjoyed it and think it's something I could do well. I've also thought about seeing if I could act in actual LDS productions/films and have also considered writing LDS Fiction like Chris Heimerdinger. Although never seriously, I also have even thought about trying to sing LDS songs along with playing my guitar. The thing is I'm a person who loves Art and Performing but I also love my Religion and love teaching and preaching about it and hope to, one day, be able to help teach and preach about it through the job I will one day have.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the church and have always loved it, but I didn't truly begin to have my own testimony and belief in it until 9th Grade when I had my first year in Seminary. Seminary is what planted the seed of the Gospel within me and attending church and Seminary are what helped it to grow. I had an experience where I almost died in the summer of 2011 where I saw the hand of the Lord and had my Faith stengthened. I was on Vacation in Mexico and I had gotten caught in a current in the ocean and had almost drowned. I was out there with my sister and cousin, luckily they were both closer to shore and didnt get caught in a current. My sister panicked and wasn't all that great a swimmer while my coousin was a much better swimmer than both of us and swam back to shore to get help after we had gotten into trouble. I was seriously out in the water having waves come over my head over and over again for probably at least half an hour and no matter how hard I tried to swim to shore I couldn't because the current wouldnt let me go.With how long I was out there and being able to stay conscious that long and to be able to have the strength to stay up as long as I did I know it wouldnt have been possible without the Lord. Even when my sister started to panic and I got caught in the current I yelled to her something like "it's okay, Heavenly Father will help us" and I know he truly gave me his strength and lifted me up while I was out there and really did "help" us. I know it wasnt my own strength but the Lords because that night I had more severe pain shooting through my whole body and muscles that night then I ever had before and I realized it was because I had the Lords strength during that time and it took it's toll on my normal mortal body, but it was totally worth it for my life. That, along with many other specific experiences throughout my teenage years have just helped my testimony to grow and build. I truly know without a doubt that this church and its Gospel are true

How I live my faith

I have had different leader positions in my ward growing up and, to be honest, I can't remember many of the specific titles or names of those positions, but the last one I had at home was probably First Counselor of the Priests which means I was the first counselor to the Bishop as he is President of the Priests. I also have been a Home Teacher since I was 14 yrs. old and have always had my dad as my companion. He would have me and him switch off teaching lessons about the Gospel to the families we had been assigned to teach, which was good experience for me, especially with me being on my mission now. And, as most young men, when I was 12, I received the Aaronic Priesthood and helped pass out the Sacrament until I turned 16 which then allowed me to Bless the Sacrament, which I, in fact, still do. And during the summer of 2012 I received the Mechizedek Priesthood because I was 18 and had finally graduated High School. And now I am at the MTC getting ready to serve the Lord in Cordoba Argentina. I left for the MTC on 12/12/12 and that is where I'm at right now. Me and my Companion are Zone Leaders of our District and I know if I serve with faith and humility, striving to be like Christ here on my mission, and even just as Zone Leader, my Faith, my Humility and every other Christ Like Attribute there is will strengthen and grow within me, not because of me, but because of the wonderful gifts and blessings of our Father in Heaven and Savior Jesus Christ.
