Hi I'm Carly Graff

I grew up in Southern California. I love to read, I love to sing. I'm serving a mission in L'viv, Ukraine. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have lived in California my whole life. I am the second of six children. I finished my first semester at BYU Idaho, and had an amazing time there. I turned 19 back in January. I am serving as a missionary for the church in the Ukraine L'viv Mission. I love to read and sing. I play some piano. and when I was up at school I was called to be the sacrament meeting pianist.( Crazy =D) I love cooking and baking with my Grandma. I love my life in general, and I know that I would not be who I am without this gospel in my life. It has been a light in the darkness when nothing else could. I love the joy that it has brought me. I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon

I have come to know and love this gospel. To me it simply makes sense. The doctrine of eternal families, knowing that this lifetime is not the end, knowing that when we die we will be reunited with our loved ones who have gone on before us. The gospel has brought so much joy and happiness into my life. I know that our prophet Thomas S. Monson is a foreordained prophet, sear, and revelator. And when I recieved my mission call in January my testimony of revelation was strengthaned, and then my mission call was changed to the Ukraine L'viv Mission it solidified what I already knew was true. I know that this church and its gospel is true. I testify these things with all my heart.

How I live my faith

This past fall I had the opportunity to attend school at BYU Idaho, and while I was up there my sister and I were able to attend the Sunday Morning Session of the October 2012 General Conference. For me, being able to attend was amazing, especially since that wonderful announcement had just been made the day before by President Thomas S. Monson. A few weeks before the October General Conference my older sister received her call to serve in the Washington D.C. North Temple Visitors Center Mission. As soon as the announcement was made I knew that Meghan and I could end up serving at the same time as each other. The whole drive home I couldn’t stop thinking about what I would do, now that the option to serve had opened up to me as well. Up at school I attended the temple to do baptisms as often as I could. While I was waiting to do confirmations I was reading in Doctrine and Covenants 31:3 which says, “Lift up your heart and rejoice, for the hour of your mission is come; and your tongue shall be loosed, and you shall declare glad tidings of great joy unto this generation.” After I read those words I knew that my time to serve was now. Even though when the verse was originally written it was intended for another person entirely, I know that my Heavenly Father made sure that that specific verse was in there for me personally. I have now received my call to serve in the L'viv, Ukraine Mission. I am so excited to serve the Lord and declare the Gospel to all of the world.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Carly Graff
The current prophet and leader of our church is President Thomas S. Monson. He receives revelation from God the Father and Jesus Christ to direct the church, as the prophets of old. He is assisted by Henry B. Eyring and Dieter F. Uctdorf. They are his Counselors and the three of them together make up the "First Presidency." There are also Twelve Apostles: Boyd K. Packer L. Tom Perry Russell M. Nelson Dallin H. Oaks M. Russell Ballard Richard G. Scott Robert D. Hales Jeffrey R. Holland David A. Bednar Quentin L. Cook D. Todd Christofferson Neil L. Andersen The Twelve Apostles and the First Presidency are all referred to as, "prophets, seers, and revelators." Show more Show less
