Hi I'm Sarah

I am the oldest of 7 daughters. I love music, literature, and art. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a big family and live in a small town. I am a musician and play several instruments including clarinet and piano. I have been through two years of college and just received my mission call to serve in Florida. One of the biggest trials and biggest blessings of my life was when I underwent posterior spinal fusion surgery in Autumn of 2005. I was 15 years old. Most of my spine was fused to correct severe scoliosis and the surgery left me with no flexibility in my back and a 14-inch scar. The love and support that I felt through that time still overwhelms me. I thank the Lord for medicine and for the good friends and family He has seen fit to put in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have a testimony that it is the true church of Christ. I feel Heavenly Father's love for me when I obey His commandments and I see His blessings abundantly in my life. I feel overwhelming joy when I think of all Christ has done for me and I know that this church contains the fullness of the Truth which is crucial to our everlasting salvation and happiness. The Lord keeps me going when I need help and He takes care to answer every prayer I offer, even the simple or small ones. I am comforted that I am able to repent of my mistakes, to let them go, and become clean again. I am so glad for the example Jesus has set for me to follow, and I know that Heavenly Father watches over all of His children. I love this church and the gospel and I love the Lord, my Savior.

How I live my faith

I participate in my church by playing piano for the children's class. I have also had opportunities previously to serve the women and young women of the church through teaching, leadership, and activity-planning assignments. I live my faith by doing my best every day to show my love to those around me including my family and coworkers. I find great joy in serving and helping others. I do my best to set a good example to others and try to live the way Jesus would want me to. I will also have the privilege to serve a full-time (18-month) mission beginning January 2013 during which time I will serve many people and be able to invite them to come unto Christ.
