Hi I'm Yushi

I am 23. I was born in Japan and raised in Michigan. I am an aerospace engineer. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 23 years old. I was born in Japan, and raised in the United States of America(Michigan). I love playing sports, especially soccer, ultimate frisbee, and any winter sports. I am the fifth of seven children in my family. I'm the math geek of my family.... or rather just the geek of my family. I love the sciences and I love to learn. I've played trombone for 8 years and still love it. Music is huge passion in my life; I love listening to music, I love singing, and I really love playing. I recently graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering. I love math, I love aircraft, and I love everything Michigan. Go Blue!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. For the longest time, it was all I knew. I really just went through the motions for a large portion of my life. But there came a point in my life where I needed to decide what I truly believed. I took up the challenge given in The Book of Mormon, to read the book, to ponder the message it contains, and to ask God the Eternal Father in the name of Christ if it was not true. As I did this I came to more fully understand and believe the doctrines that the church teaches. I have come to a knowledge that the Book of Mormon truly is the word of God, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored church of God on the earth today. My answer didn't come all at once, I had to read and reread the Book of Mormon, I had to pray about it countless times. But as I did this, I could feel my faith in Christ grow, I could feel His love for me and for all of his children; and I know, that anyone who will take up the challenge to read ponder and pray about the Book of Mormon can come to have the same knowledge that I have. Its why I'm still a Mormon, and why I'm serving as a missionary today.

How I live my faith

While at school I was one of the activities committee co-chair for our young single adults ward. We were in charge of planning all the weekend and weekday activities for our congregation which included our weekly family home evenings, monthly linger-longer's and all other sorts of fun social gatherings. After I graduated I helped in my home ward by teaching the Webelos(10 year-olds) in the ward cub scouts program. I had a lot of fun teaching the younger generation what I knew and have learned through the scouting program. I am currently serving a full-time mission in the Missouri St. Louis Mission. I've only been out a short time, but I love serving those around me as a representative of the Lord Jesus Christ.
